THEORY AND INTERVENTION STRATEGIES
Body-oriented experiential therapies are an exciting and developing area of clinical practice . Research in cognitive sciences, neurophysiology and, most importantly, the field of affective neuroscience, has demonstrated the importance of bodily experiences in all forms of communication.
Empathy and compassion are fundamental skills in providing effective health care.
Emotions are complex and fully embodied sensors. Emotions aso help us by adjusting diverse aspects of physiology, cognition, behavior and motivation.
Here, health care practitioners can learn new ways that increase the ability to cope with challenging situations through experiential therapies.
These seminars are suitable for all
healthcare workers who are interested in learning about the emerging field of applied embodied cognition and how it can relate to the
the very character of their practice. Participants are expected to have an openness to experiment and a readiness to explore their own emotional states and patterns of embodiment.
